Inclusive production of ω mesons at large transverse momenta in π − Be interactions at 515 GeV / c
We present results on the production of ω mesons at high transverse momenta in πBe interactions at 515 GeV/c. The data span the kinematic range 3.5 ≤ pT ≤ 8 GeV/c. We compare the measured cross section with expectations from Monte Carlo QCD generators. The relative yield of ω to π mesons is used to extract the ratio of vector to pseudoscalar meson production for the first generation of quarks. ...
متن کاملLight nuclei from chiral EFT interactions
Recent developments in nuclear theory allow us to make a connection between quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and low-energy nuclear physics. First, chiral effective field theory (χEFT) provides a natural hierarchy to define two-nucleon (NN), three-nucleon (NNN), and even four-nucleon interactions. Second, ab initio methods have been developed capable to test these interactions for light nuclei. In ...
متن کاملInteractions Between Western Iran and Mesopotamia From the 9th-4th Millennia B. C.
Throughout prehistory, the cultures of Iran and Western Asia differed in important respects. Many of these differencescan be attributed to the different geographic and environmental conditions in the two regions. Western Iran is largely aheavily divided mountainous region with difficult access whereas Mesopotamia is relatively flat and open to travel andtrade. The early Holocene environment of ...
متن کاملInhibition of interactions and interconversions of prion protein isoforms by peptide fragments from the C-terminal folded domain.
The formation of protease-resistant prion protein (PrP-res or PrP(Sc)) involves selective interactions between PrP-res and its normal protease-sensitive counterpart, PrP-sen or PrP(C). Previous studies have shown that synthetic peptide fragments of the PrP sequence corresponding to residues 119-136 of hamster PrP (Ha119-136) can selectively block PrP-res formation in cell-free systems and scrap...

Let S be a standard N k-graded polynomial ring over a field K, let I be a multigraded homogeneous ideal of S, and let M be a finitely generated Z k-graded S-module. We prove that the resolution regularity, a multigraded variant of Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity, of I n M is asymptotically a linear function. This shows that the well known Z-graded phenomenon carries to multigraded situation.
